Hi again - and thanks for the warm welcome to the list! Some wanted an
exact location - whatever it was that I saw, it was in the parking lot of
Westminster Presbyterian on Rugby Rd. It flew off to the south and east in
the direction of the hospital.
I continue to be amazed at the birdlife in the Rugby/Gordon/Grady Ave.
neighborhood, through which I walk to get to work. The birds don't seem one
bit bothered by the noisy trains rumbling through, nor the usual sounds of
an active Fraternity Row. There are even Pileated Woodpeckers in that area
- I've seen the female twice since last spring, and they've also been
spotted at Cabell Hall on U.Va. Grounds and in the Fifeville neighborhood
to the south.
