Morning,
At various locations around Lake Pelham this season, I'm seeing:
At least 5 different Ospreys, very active and fishing.
Two adult bald eagles that have been around the lake now for several weeks.
Last night I saw a group of four Green Herons nesting around the dock area.
Spotted Sandpiper in the marshes.
Many Great Blue Herons.
Geese, Mallards, Swans, Belted Kingfisher, various Swallows, Red Wing Black
Birds, various Hawks, etc.
Again this year, I am seeing Night Hawks flying around Culpeper Regional
Hospital through out the day.
I think the best way to go birding around Lake Pelham is to bring your canoe or
kayak. Most of the land around the lake is private. However, there a couple
of access points such as the boat ramp and Hwy 29.
