I was thrilled to find a red-headed woodpecker in the middle of the Cub Run
Stream Valley trails today by a patch of white bluebells. I usually only find
them at Huntley Meadows and Sky Meadows parks. Â Also seen/heard: barred owl,
pileated woodpeckers, Eastern Phoebes, Bluebirds, and usual mix of backyard
birds. Â I didn't find any warblers yet but that doesn't mean they aren't
there. The massive bluebell displays there should peak this weekend. There are
also probably thousands of peaking yellow trout lilies scattered about. Trails
are not very crowded. Â Flyover "video" of 10-mile hike is here:Â Â
