At least 1200 crows were apparently enroute to the traditional crow roost at
the intersection of Rts 395 and 7 (Arlington County) at 4:30PM this afternoon.
This was a roost that has been subjected to poisoning twice in the last 4
years. All vocalizing crows were American. The temporary roost at Columbia
Pike and Little River Turnpike (Fairfax County-Annandale) established in 2003
seems to be abandoned. I wonder if the USDA will approve a third poisoning of
the 395/7 roost.
