Hello birders,

Just a quick email to inform those interested that
Belmont Bay at Mason Neck SP held 3 Common Mergansers
on last Wednesday's bird walk.  I wasn't there but the
park interpreter who led the walk reported it to me.
This sighting was apparently confirmed by the other
birders present on the walk.  Unfortunately, I don't
remember if it was 2f and 1m or the other way around.
No chicks were observed.  Maybe there is breeding by
this species in the area?  Or would they not flock up
like this if they were breeding?  Anyway, it's a neat
sighting.

Sorry for the late report, I've been super busy and
totally forgot to report this a few days ago.

Scott Baron
Fairfax, Va.
