Being a little paranoid after the Saturday frozen-feeder report, and not
having heard from Jim for several days (ahem!), I arrived at work with just
enough time to dash over to the Ripley garden. The feeder is fine,
unfrozen, and so is the Rufous.<g> I observed her between 8:35 and 8:40.
I first saw her sitting in the low Viburnum bush. After stopping at the
feeder to get a drink, she flew over to the Rose/Polyganum bushes to the
right, flying among them and eventually perching at the top of the Rose
bush, chirping softly. Feathers must do a darn good job insulating: too
bad humans don't have some!
