Hello all
This past Sunday June 10th 2007 I did the Churchville 004 BBS route . I started
at 05:23 & finished at 10:16 am .Starting Temp of 50 & ending with 78. Sky
clear & wind was calm at first & wind speed picked up to a 1 on the scale at
finish .
I had a total of 68 species of birds with a total of 2158 indivisual birds .
Big misses for this year were Mallard , Black Vulture , Wood Thrush & Scarlet
Tanager . New to the list were La. Waterthrush & Blue - headed Vireo . High
lights were Bald Eagle ( adult ) , Cooper's Hawk . Peak counts for Summer were
Am. Kestrel -- 8 -- Matched , Red - bellied Woodpecker --17 -- Matched , Barn
Swallow -- 133 & House Finch --20 . Breeding records for Barn Swallow with just
fledged young in the Swoope area . Now for the list .

After doing this route with Yulee Larner for several years & in 2001 she turned
over the route to me . With that she gave me all the records for this route
from the 70's to the year of 2000 . From the 60's they go back as far as 1966 &
the years of 1968 & 69 this route was not run . I checked on the high counts
for Summer & the list is as follows . Some of the counts are low & none has
been recorded until now . I think you will find this interesting as I did .
