As a VA native, I have been following this case as closely as possible (from
Boise, ID). If this discussion is going off list please include me in the
cc list. I think it is a discussion that VA birders need to hear discussion
about. It gets us out of our tunnels and enables us to hear other's
opinions. I have found it informative
On another note, I'll be meandering my way up the western edge of the state
from the 5th of July through the 7th or 8th and will be informally birding
along the way. I would be very interested in some locations of relatively
easy spots to find in that area for some birding.

comments should probably be carried on off-list, but, while I like birds, I
believe people are more important. Birds are made to be more important when
two dead birds results in the banning of an activity that people wish to
participate in. We're not talking about the eradication of a species, just
an error that was punished accordingly. Just my humble opinion. Please send

Personally, I don't see one case of two dead birds as proving anything such
as that. At a certain point, the rules start giving more importance to the
birds than to people, such as if we banned everyone from ORV use from one
small incident.
