I conducted my weekly survey along the Hike-Bike Trail at Huntley Meadows this
morning, 29 May. A Yellow-breasted Chat is still vocalizing in the main meadow
where the mowed path veers to the left. The male sings either in the treeline
to the right of the path or the brushpile to the left of it. It's nice to see
that former breeders are possibly returning to old breeding locations.
There is also a Field Sparrow singing an atypical song in the main meadow. Also
observed today was a foraging pair of Pine Warblers at the maintenance building
and a phoebe on nest on a light on the maintenance building.
