I enjoyed a cold but enjoyable morning birding mostly in Charles City
County.  The prolonged weather appears to have brought in good numbers of
diving ducks as Common Goldeneye, Canvasback, Ring-n. Ducks, Lesser
Scaup, Common Mergansers, etc. were all observed.  While land birding was
slow, I did observe a Baltimore Oriole for over an hour feeding in lawns
along the James River.  It did not appear to associate with any feeders
and yet is currently surviving this protracted period of cold weather.
