Hi! Hope you can join us for the Ninth Central Loudoun CBC this year.
Everyone is welcome, experienced birders and first-timers. This year's count
is on Wednesday, the 28th of December, this year.
[Pls pardon me if you have already gotten another email from me & already
responded.]
Our count circle, sponsored by the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, covers 177
square miles of Loudoun's countryside: north to Waterford, south to Aldie, east
to Ashburn, and west to Purcellville. There are approximately five miles of
the C&O Canal in
Maryland at White's Ferry, miles and miles of the W&OD, extensive still-rural
areas and
sprawling suburbs, wetlands and numerous natural areas such as the Banshee
Reeks Nature Preserve. The Dulles Greenway Wetlands Mitigation Project,
Oatlands Plantation, Brambleton Regional Park, both the Beaverdam and Goose
Creek Reservoirs, Ball's Bluff Regional Park and Morven Park are all part of
the count circle.
Everyone is welcome, beginners and expert birders (amateurs are teamed with
experienced birders). If you are interested in participating for only a couple
of hours or the entire day, contact Joe Coleman (540-554-2542 or
jandkcoleman@xxxxxxxxx) to register and receive
additional information.
