I've been waiting for more Cedar Waxwings to show
up--had a single one about two weeks ago. A
flock of them showed up in my holly trees this
morning--maybe the same ones Jim Fitzgerald
reported at Chris Greene Lake--but there wasn't a
berry to be had, alas! A huge flock of robins
that was here for about ten days had stripped all
three trees.
Barn swallows are back, and it looks as if a
couple of them have already staked out their
claim to the nest on my front porch. The others
will probably take up residence in my shed. The
tree swallows are still hanging around, and I've
gotten another bluebird box to put up, at the
suggestion of several of you. We'll see if they
go for it!
