During a stroll around my neighbourhood this morning - Annandale, Fairfax
County, outside the Capital Beltway; and Truro Homeowners' parkland to be
precise - I came across a preening Cape May Warbler, which had just taken a
bath
in the stream. I almost did not look at it, as there was a Yellow-rumped
Warbler doing the same thing in the same bush and both birds have a yellow
rump!
Luckily I scanned both of them. If I have had a Cape May in this suburban
location before, it will have been eons ago.
