Site Coordinator: Gene Sattler
Observers: Bob & Betty Epperson, Gene Sattler, Robert Ferrell
Visitors:
About 12 members of the Lynchburg Bird Club and guests came out for the
annual visit to the local hawk watch.
Weather:
Mostly cloudy, with some weak sun except from 12:00-14:00 EST, high of 82
degrees F. Winds 3-8 mph SW-SSW.
Observations:
A light trickle with a brief small push about 14:30 that seemed to be shut
down by clouds closing in again. A few birds seen to put down at that
time in front of us. There seemed to be some birds out there that wanted
to move, but lift was limited by the clouds, and a headwind to boot.
RH Woodpecker (1), RT Hummingbird (2), Monarchs (10), Dragonflies (81 -
mostly when the sun was out).
