Managed to get my normal Common Nighthawk count in at Van Dyke Park
despite the remnants of Ivan in the area including tornadoes to the west.
There was a light rain during the last hour of the watch. Winds were high
out of the east.
Not a bad day. Seven at 1808, one at 1814, 6 at 1900 and another group
of 4 at 1913 for a total of 18. They were coming from the west heading east
or northeast. The first group spent some time circling high over the field.
