The Hampton Roads Bird Club birded the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Islands
1, 2, 3, and 4 Saturday morning from 8:00 - 11:00 am with an escort from the
CBBT Authority. Then the group traveled directly north to Willis Wharf and
birded several spots on the way back south - Cheriton Landfill, Magotha
Road, and small section of ESNWR.
Temperatures at 8:00 am were about 50, overcast with light winds on the
tunnel islands. By mid-afternoon, the temperatures inland were in the low
60s. Predicted rain never appeared and we marveled at better weather than we
could ever have expected in mid-January!

outstanding birding adventure, arranging all the details with the CBBT
