This past weekend, I had JMU's ornithology class out for the
field final. We stopped at small marshy wetland(spring fed)
to observe the interactions of the Redwing population. As
we backed out of this area, we heard a resounding chorus of
Spring Peepers. Prior to our backing out they were silent.
The van we use is equipped with a warning sound when operated
in reverse. It sure must be close to their calls.
