VAbirders,
I checked out Burke Lake from 12:30 to 2pm today. The fishing pier/pontoon
dock section of the lake yielded half a dozen Ruddies, a single Coot, some
C. Geese, and, out in the middle of the lake, a lone Common Loon. Each
"end" of the lake had a pair of Buffleheads. There was 1 male Lesser Scaup
with the Buffle pair at the dam side of the lake. I also had a nice Brown
Creeper in a mixed flock of Chickadees, Titmice, Nuthatches, etc.
