Hi All,
Good news.... The Bullock's Oriole is still in Vienna, VA. The Kenny's have
been gracious enough to allow birders viewing access to their backyard feeders
from the left side of the house. I arrived today in the rain around 2pm in
hopes of seeing the rarity. Still no dice by 3pm but at 3:05 I heard a
different sound in the air. I wasn't familiar with the song of the Bullock's
Oriole but certain portions of this sound had those "clear piping tones" that a
Baltimore Oriole makes. Sure enough within a minute a beautiful male showed up
at the feeders. It returned 2 more times within the next hour before I left. I
also managed to get some photos. Needless to say, I'm one happy camper. I hope
you have the same luck. You don't want to miss this bird.....
