My activities, including photograhy, have been greatly
curtailed due to a badly fractured ankle as the result of
somethine as simple as yard work.
I'm pretty much bedridden for now and coming to accept the
fact I will miss much of this spring migration season.
For past several mornings I've been waking up before the
chickens and what a pleasant surprise to have a bobwhite
calling outside the bedroom window this morning at 7 a.m.
It called for over 10 minutes with the "Bob White" and
occassionally "Bob Bob White" thrown in. It was close,
just a few short feet away either in the back ally or next
door neighbor's back yard.
What's remarkable is we live in a downtown residential
neighborhood. And, to top it off, a Yellow Warbler joined
in with it's "Sweet, Sweet, Sweet, little more sweet" and
was probably making a brief visit to our small inground
pond in the back yard.
We were able to get a telephone modem hooked up to my old
laptop and I can now access email and web so keep your
spring migration posts to VA-Bird and Shenvalbird coming.
In good spirits,
