VA Birders,
11 birders participated in the Northern Virginia Bird Club walk at Occoquan
Bay NWR led by Bob Klarquist and me. The highlight came at the end of the
walk when we observed 15 Bobolinks flying around in the field between the
gazebo
and the parking lot. The birds were near the shelter at the end of the
parking lot and we all got nice looks at them. Other good birds seen before
the
Bobolinks include Nashville, Yellow, Blue-winged, Black-throated Green and
Palm Warblers. There were many Eastern Phoebes around and we also saw at
least
15 species of butterflies including Cloudless Sulpher and Sleepy Orange.
