About 5:30 p.m. today a preening, wet BLUEBIRD drew our attention to our
stream. A BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was bathing there with two BLUEBIRDS and a
LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH.
Our first Monarch butterfly of the season was laying eggs on the milkweeds
earlier in the afternoon. Many Eastern Swallowtail caterpillars are devouring
the fennel.
