Despite yesterdays blustery winds, a few new arrivals made their
presence known. The only warbler species was Palm, mostly around Arnold
Pond and the (now marshy) dry lake bed.
Not much else to speak of other than a handfull Chimney Swifts seen
along the ridge and two Yellow-billed Cuckoos located further up the
trail towards the AT.
Today I stopped by the Robert W. Smalley, Sr bridge (Rt.7 crossing of
the Shenandoah) and was pleased to see the resident Cliff Swallow
colony has returned and is already actively repairing their surviving
adobe abodes...
