VA-Birders: I just went to the opening of the new Whole Foods out here
at Fair Lakes and when I was going back to my car I saw the most amazing
blue birds fly by.
To my amazement there was a flock of about 6 Eastern blue birds (both M
and F) flitting about in what few trees are left after all the new
construction.
They looked bigger than our usual blue birds so I'm guessing they are
northern migrants but I still was surprised to see what I consider
spring/summer birds flying around on this cold, cold day.
What a nice touch of happiness in the middle of the week.
