All,
On Saturday, May 7, at 3:40 PM I saw a BLACK-NECKED STILT in a wet field on Rt.
669 - Apple Grove Road - near Kilmarnock in Northumberland County, lower
Northern Neck, a single bird feeding near some black-bellied plovers. It had
rained all day the day before and water was standing in many places. I could
not find the bird again when returning to the spot less than an hour later and
a check of nearby puddles, ponds and ditches also came up empty.
