The Black Rail was heard again this morning between 9:15 and 9:30, the
song coming  from within 2 feet of the boardwalk near the eastern side
of the loop. The bird sang repeatedly and its movements could thereby be
tracked, but not a leaf of the vegetation was disturbed as it made its
way.  This bird gives new meaning to the word secretive.

I understand that the rail was also present early this morning when a
reported 22 people were on hand. Those who were treated to an actual
view of this bird over the last couple of days were privileged indeed!
