In addition to the five species (BH Cowbird, Tufted Titmouse, Kingfisher,
Mockingbird, and Cardinal) mentioned by Marlene Condon, the most
persistent "window attackers" in my experience have been the Robin and
Eastern Bluebird. In one instance at our home, a Robin was so intent
that he would occasionally "pound himself' unconscious on the hubcaps of
our van. He also attacked the house windows and the mirrors on vehicles.
A friend of our had an Eastern Bluebird that spent every day (for almost
two weeks) fluttering up and down his patio doors. I have had numerous
reports of this kind of behavior from these two species (and from the
Cardinal and Mockingbird, already mentioned). In fact, these four
species seemed to be predominant in attacking reflections with the
Cardinal the one most often reported to me.
