Hello Birders..
We started out at Cumberland Marsh and didn't see anything. Then we tried
the Diascund Reservoir and Little Creek Dam..Zero birds, high winds, too many
fishermen out in their Jon Boats. So we headed down to Williamsburg. We were
looking for ducks and drove along, up and down the James River. Nothing in
College Creek. No ducks. Nada.. (still haven't found any Wood Ducks) The
wind was incredibly strong. The James was really wild-looking. No
self-respecting duck would venture into that scene.
We tried Powhatan Creek and found a lone Osprey trying his hand at fishing..

8 images shot in harsh light. Poor guy didn't have any luck to speak of..
Then we went on to Lake Powell, which was considerably calmer and found a
pair of Mute Swans just minding their own business..

5 shots in this series..
Also saw a Beaver who was totally unconcerned with our presence.

3 images..
That was all we saw. I have to think it was the high winds that made for a
nearly birdless day???
Maybe we'll try Dutch Gap tomorrow if the winds die down.
Hang onto your hats :)..
