VA Birders,
Grayson Perkins, another member of the BCBC (Buchanan County Bird Club), and
I, Roger Mayhorn, birded Boyd's Ridge in the southern part of the county
today. Birding was slow, and we managed to locate only 16 species. We had
hopes of finding some late migrant sparrows, but the White-throats and Songs
we found were winter residents.
The birds of note we found were the two Pileated Woodpeckers, a Fox Sparrow
and a male Golden-crowned Kinglet with an exceptionally bright orange crown
patch.

Enjoy the birds,
Roger Mayhorn
Grundy, VA
