Location: Lake Brittle
Observation date: 1/25/07
Notes: Today was cold (35 F), clear, and lightly windy (10 mph out
of the west).
Number of species: 14
Canada Goose 40
Lesser Scaup 2 These were too far away to get the head GISS.
I'm saying Lesser instead of Greater based on the wooded, freshwater
habitat. I welcome any comments.
Bufflehead 8
Hooded Merganser 8
Common Merganser 70 Rough count, they kept diving!
Great Blue Heron 1
Black Vulture 8 I haven't seen these around in a while, but
had great views.
Turkey Vulture 1
Bald Eagle 2 adults
Red-shouldered Hawk 2 The two were perched close together.
They were just over the Canada Geese, keeping careful watch over them
;)
Red-tailed Hawk 1 Sort of kiting around low over the canopy.
Ring-billed Gull 1
Carolina Chickadee 5
Tufted Titmouse 3
