Nineteen members of the Augusta Bird Club (listed at bottom) fanned out over
the local valley and mountain ridges this past weekend as part of our annual
spring count.  At least 130 species were recorded so far -- not all counts
are in.  The following are the preliminary totals.  No early arrivals, total
count records, or other aberrations are noted in my cursory review.  The
species diversity and counts of migrant passerines seems limited, suggesting
that the main wave is still to come.  Sure hope so!  /John Spahr
