Greetings,
I spent a delightful couple of hours this morning (4/12) on the Bull
Run/Occoquan Trail, in Bull Run Regional Park located in Centreville. I had
never been along this stretch before, but I'll certainly be back. Virginia
Bluebells were in full bloom, along with a carpet of Spring Beauties so my
walk was made all the more special!
Back to birds..highlights of my walk: Two BLUE-HEADED VIREOS in the same
tree, N. PARULA (5) convention starting, PALM WARBLER singing, a big flock
(c.250) of RUSTY BLACKBIRDS with a few Red-winged thrown in for good measure,
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER (5), RED-SHOULDERED HAWK on the nest, PURPLE FINCH (6),
and way too many Yellow-rumps to count.
