One of the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy Bird walks/count yesterday was along
the Appalachian trail Road and up to the AT a few miles north and west of Round
Hill. We briefly re-visited the area about 2:00 p.m. to see if we could add a
couple more species and re-locate the bittern (we were not successful on the
latter).
Three of us visited this area about 6:00 a.m. and our first bird was an
American Bittern. We recorded 55 species and the highlights were the American
Bittern, 2 Yellow-throated Vireos, 11 warbler species, including Worm-eating,
Bay-breasted.
