Gentle Readers,
Yesterday, 4/12/2006, between 0900 and 1015, over thirty Double-Crested
Cormorants were seen along the Paw-paw Trail in the Shenandoah River at
Andy Guest Shenandoah River State Park in Warren County, Virginia.
Also seen yesterday were:

1 Wild Turkey, HNS
1 Belted Kingfisher
4 Red-bellied Woodpecker
1 Northern Flicker
1 Pileated Woodpecker

7 Tree Swallow
3 Carolina Chickadee
1 White-breasted Nuthatch
4 Carolina Wren
2 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
9 Eastern Bluebird
3 American Robin
35 Cedar Waxwing
1 Louisianna Waterthrush
5 Yellow-rumped Warbler
35 Chipping Sparrow
1 Field Sparrow
3 Song Sparrow
2 Dark-eyed Junco
7 Red-winged Blackbird
5 American Goldfinch
HNS = Heard, Not Seen
Also seen in the Park were Virginia Bluebells, Wild Geranium, Zebra
Swallowtail, White Sulohur and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
Andy Guest Shenandoah River State Park is located in Warren County,
Virginia, just off Route 340 about 7 miles south of Front Royal.
