Beth Clark and I saw American Pipits twice yesterday at the Blandy
Experimental Farm in Clark County, VA. The first sighting, a flock of
about 2 dozen birds, was along Blandy's entrance road at about 11:30
AM. We found a smaller flock foraging along the edge of the ice and
meltwater in a pasture on our neighbor's property (The Tuleyries). These
birds could be seen well from the Loop Road between the Cedars of Lebanon
and the Ginkgo grove.
Red-breasted Nuthatches are still in the conifers near the Quarters. I
have heard of no sightings of the Black-throated Gray Warbler since 12 January.
