I was in the Manassas area this morning running errands and decided to look for
the American Golden Plovers that reportedly showed up on their migration. I
found 11 of them in one field of a sod farm on Bristow Rd, approximately 2
miles south of Rte 28 (Nokesville Rd). Two were close and I got some very good
views. The rest were farther back in the field, but are clearly AGP's as the
head markings are striking. Among them were about 15 killdeer and dozens of
Laughing Gulls flying around.
Best Birding Wishes!
