Birders,
This morning Rosemarie and I found an Alder Flycatcher in Orange
County. Located on Clifton Road (Rt. 628) about .5 mile from the
junction of Rt. 628 and Rt. 627 near a pond on the north side of the
road. This is the same location that the species was seen/heard by
several birders in May and June 2000. We only saw one bird but there
is a good possibility that a second bird was present. As
information, the property is a shooting preserve and a tick sanctuary
and I recommend birding from the road.
Warbling Vireos were found on Rt. 627 at junction with Rt. 636. Vesper
Sparrows were seen on Rt. 627 near Hawfield.
Happy birding,
George Harris
