Hi Birders,
I am new to this (birding and va-bird). I don't know if my sighting is unusual,
but I hope it interest you. I live in McLean, on Cecile Street. I have a large
garden, with many birds. This week I saw a completely albino robin in my yard
and in the yards of my neighbors. I took several photos yesterday but have not
yet developed them.
The bird is not shy. It came to within 5 feet of me. Its feathers are TOTALLY
white, pure white. The eyes seem to have a bit of pink on them. It looks
healthy but appears to be a weak flyer. I haven't heard it sing, but while on
the grass it made a few robin chirpy sounds. It likes to hang out in the yards
of the 4 or 5 houses at the end of my street (a cul-de-sac). This is the first
time I have seen an albino robin.
Regards,
Brenda Frank
