A fast moving cold kept me inside yesterday, but fortunately I had enough
energy to drag myself out of bed this AM. Warbler variety and numbers were
decent. Most numerous warbler honors went to Blackpoll W. Other warbler
highlights were two Tennessee W. moving together, and Hooded Warbler singing
upslope from the barn foundation. Not much singing however, over half the
warblers seen were female. Non-warbler highlight of the morning was a
first-year male Summer Tanager - red head with scattered green feathers, dk.
olive wings, med. olive back and tail, yellowish green chest, orangish-cream
vent and rump. Complete list follows.
