[v-webmail] Show unread messages

Hi,
I just got v-webmail installed and was wondering if there was I way I could
edit the template to have a table on the left-hand side of the message list or
in the left-hand frame that includes how many unread messages (and perhaps
total messages) there are in each folder. I tried to modify the PHP templates
to show this, but I don't think those values are available to those templates.
How would I go about doing this?
