Both sides in this discussion are wrong. You cannot rebuild something that was
never there. Most of the Afghanistanis are oriented to supporting their tribe,
not a national government which is supposed to look out for the benefit of a
whole country instead of a local group. Unfortunately, the Taliban are the
closest thing they have until another group grows up to supplant them. The
will of the governed is the critical question here and it is tilted in a way we
do not like. We have to live with it. It's called reality. Eric
