Notes next to each assertion below. I guess the rise of the Taliban and the
invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq don't count. Neither does the doubling of
North Korea's nuclear stockpile while 45's good buddy was having his ass kissed
by Guess Who. Under Reagan, the US created and funded a lot of Right Wing
takeovers. I guess none of that counts, though, when you are reading biased
sources designed to appeal to their base. Eric

Subject: [uupretirees] Re: Memorial Day( Decoration Day) May 31, 2021 Here is
the question that was asked on a blog.(Quora)Do Republicans make more war than
Democrats and if so, why?
It’s essentially the opposite. Here’s a list of facts:
- Democrats started the Vietnam war, which killed 2 million people. [Our
involvement in Viet Nam began under Eisenhower. Read the Pentagon Papers.]
- Democrats under Harry Truman got us involved in the Korean war [The US
was part of an international effort under the auspices of the United Nations,
responding to an attack from China and North Korea..]
- Democrats dropped nukes on Hiroshima [If you have to choose between
killing a lot of enemies and not killing a lot of your own troops, which would
choose. It turned out not to be necessary but the decision was made based on
available information.]
- Democrats got us into WWI, thanks to Woodrow Wilson, THE WORST President
EVER to have sat in the White House next to Joe Biden. Wilson’s policies led
directly to a chain of events that kicked off WWII, and threw the world into
chaos, costing millions of lives [I won't even discuss your rating of Wilson
or Biden. Try reading a bit of history. I recommend starting with Barbara
Tuchman's "The Guns of August."]
- Democrats started the Bay of Pigs war [Once again, a plan begun under
Eisenhower and the CIA. Hardly a war.]
- Democrats bombed Libya under Barack Obama, where 1000+ innocent women and
children were drone-struck to death [Bombs are not as selective as ground
troops. just ask the Palestinians. Similarly, their "warriors" surrounded
themselves with civilians in hopes of protecting themselves.]
- Democrats under Obama and Biden were responsible for the Arab Spring
uprisings [Where did this come from?]
- Democrats under Obama and Biden dragged us into the years-long Syria war,
when we were originally supposed to be there only for 2 weeks [As with Korea,
you should help your allies, as a matter national honor and credibility.]
- Democrats under Obama and Biden started the conflict in Yemen and other
Middle Eastern states [This is an extension of the Sunni--Shiite fight that has
been going on for about 1300 years. Note also the conflicts in Syria and
Lebanon.]
Where there’s a mess, you can bet that Democrats were solely responsible.464
