        Syd and Giya were sitting in the holodeck, holding each other. Each 
wishing that this moment didn't have to end. What Giya didn't know was that Syd 
had a surprise for him and that it didn't have to end, at least not yet.  She 
had made arrangements for them to each have a few more days off before they 
had to return to their duties of XO and Tactical officer.

        Sitting there ... silently, watching the stars and the flickering 
flames ... lost totally in one another, their souls entwined.

        Syd had a surprise for Giya and she couldn't wait to tell him, but 
wondered how he would take it. She hoped he would take with pleasure as she 
would. 
She took his hands and looked at his beautiful face and stared into his eyes. 
"Giya I hope you wont think I am being forward but I have a surprise for you."

         He looked into her eyes intently. "A surprise? What might that be?" 
      
        " I couldn't stand the thought of being away from you just yet while 
we went back to our duties, you as XO and me as a lowly tactical officer, so I 
made arrangements to get us a few more days off so we could spend some more 
time together. I hope you don't mind?" 

         He smiled. "Mind? Well, why not? It sounds wonderful to me." 
            
      Syd just smiled that goofy grin she would get. " I was hoping you would 
say that. Because I also made arrangements to get a shuttle for a few days as 
well. You don't think I am being to forward do you ?" God she hoped he said 
no. 

         He chuckled. "You ARE full of surprises, aren't you? No ... not too 
forward at all. I quite enjoy whatever happens when I am with you, Syd." 
      
       "Sometimes the Betazoid in me tends to take over a tad bit. I 
apologize for that. I am not usually like this but for some reason when I am 
around 
you something in me changes and I want to be with you 24/7 or longer. I thought 
we could find a nice quiet class- m planet and just see what happens." Syd 
already knew what she wanted to happen she just wondered where Giya stood on 
the 
subject. 

         "A world to ourselves then? My, you are the romantic, aren't you? 
You know ... I haven't felt this way in ages. But that's a wish, a dream come 
true." 

      Syd suddenly had a thought and it disturbed her. "Are you making fun of 
me?" 

         "Making fun?" He wondered why she was saying that. "No, Syd. I have 
never let my guard down around a woman since ... well, since her. I thought 
this would never happen and now I am happily proved wrong." He smiled at her 
and 
kissed her softly. 

      "Its just when you said, "You know ... I haven't felt this way in ages. 
But that's a wish, a dream come true." I felt like you making fun of my idea 
or of me. Maybe its just my insecurity coming out. I don't know. Maybe my 
surprise was a bad idea."
He
      "Why feel insecure, Syd? What's left to feel insecure about?" He gazed 
deeply into her eyes, wondering what secrets her soul hid from him. 

      Syd wasn't sure why she suddenly felt so insecure unless she was 
remembering her nightmare again. "Giya can we just get on the shuttle and get 
away 
from here and everyone for a few days? I don't want to be with anyone but you 
if you don't mind. The sooner the better."

     He smiled. "Whatever you wish my love. Let's go by all means." 

      Syd had already had their bags packed and put on the shuttle so all 
they had to do was get on board and then Syd sat back and watched as Giya so 
expertly launched the shuttle toward the nearest Class-M planet and a few days 
of 
heaven for the two of them.
