Subject: <USS Meridian> Falling

> Falling... An actually sort of relaxing feeling if your not looking down.
However, the smoothness of one's journey can be abruptly stopped when
hitting the ground.
>
> Almost like a mind in motion. Oridian's eyes flashed open. Closing them
instantly as the lights from sickbay hit his pupils, Oridian began to focus.
Recalling the events from before. Lots of falling.
>
> Back into falling. Oridian found himself floating within the very memories
of his recent past. He watched as he and Kai broke free from the prison
cell. He witnessed as the knife hit his body, and as if it was almost
waiting for that moment Oridian's body surged with pain.
>
> Hitting the ground. Oridian's eyes sprang back open again as he fought the
urge the scream. Closing them quickly again, Oridian began to become
familiar with where he currently was. Bright lights had hit his body, and by
the feeling of them on his skin he knew it was not sunlight or the lighting
system that was used in the cell. Therefore he had to be on the Meridian.
>
> As if it never stopped. Oridian's thoughts came back to him as he rolled
under a table, knocking it upward as he drew out a knife from his uniform
pants and stabbed it into the chest of a guard who was innocently sitting
there playing some card game...
>
> Something never felt so bad. Oridian jolted his memory again. He knew now
that the pain he felt was in his left side, where he was foolish enough to
get hit by the guard. But nevermind that, he still needed to figure out
where he was... Eyes still closed Oridian focused his mind, reacting to what
he felt around him. There was a sheet covering him, not the normal that he
would find in his quarters. Also, those lights were not the ones he had, his
could never get that bright. Sickbay, thats the only other option.
>
> Flowing through space itself. Oridian found himself crouched behind a
column as phaser fire flew around him. He was outside the control room back
on the planet, at least thats what he remembered. Waiting a few enternal
moments as a lull in the fire occurred, Oridian turned and raised his rifle.
>
> As though it never began. He was sure of it now, sickbay was where he was,
which meant that he must have gotten there somehow or someone must have
brought him here. Regardless, it was now time to clear his mind, he needed
to focus and regain his strength.
>
> It had taken alot for Oridian to do what he did back on the planet, and in
the next week or so he would pay for it. Using his mind like an override
switch had sent his body to its limits, something which he knew very well he
should not have done. However he could not have remained idle.
>
> Relaxing his body Oridian began to flow his body into a trance, seeking
the inner energy that flowed and powered his body. Drawing from it he began
to center it within himself, willing himself to come out of this phase and
move into the world, come out of falling and hit the ground...
>
>
> Opening his eyes again Oridian sat up slowly on his bed in sickbay,
looking all too familiar to him as though he had been staring at it for a
few minutes. He could feel the pain in his side and also that it was
slightly more difficult to breathe, meaning it was properly wrapped and
cared for. Smiling to himself for a moment as he watched nurses and other
crew move about, someone would come to him soon, but until Oridian knew that
he needed to rest, gather his strength again.
>
> Gather his strength to stop from falling.
