CommoLukasFyrstk: Cadet Wren. Mah ready room. ::Moves off to the ready room.::
HaileyPiperWren: ::stands and heads to the ready room, taking her PADD with
her::
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::Enters the ready room and moves behind his desk. Turns and
looks at Hailey but does not sit down::
HaileyPiperWren: ::enters behind the captain and moves towards his desk,
standing at attention in front of it::
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::looks down at her hands, sees the PADD:: What is the PADD
for, Cadet?
HaileyPiperWren: I would have left it on the bridge Captain, but I am warry to
leave it unattended around a couple of people. It contains, among other things,
my cheat sheets for Ops and guide to being an officer sir.
HaileyPiperWren: And, it also contains the journal I am required to keep for
being assigned this mission sir.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Are you saying the officers on mah bridge crew are less than
scrupulous?
HaileyPiperWren: I am saying that the idea of a practical joke may be
difficult to pass up sir.
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::Raises a brow:: Ah have yet to see anyone an mah bridge
play practical jokes with people's personal equipment, Cadet. You may want to
learn to trust them.
HaileyPiperWren: Hard to trust people when you feel you are constantly being
verbally attacked sir. If the altercation between myself and Lt Matsu had not
just occured, I probably would have left the PADD at my station.
HaileyPiperWren: However, it did occur.
CommoLukasFyrstk: If the verbal exchange between you and lt. Matsu had not
occured, you would not be in here. Tell me what it was all about.
HaileyPiperWren: That is true sir.
HaileyPiperWren: She added an unauthorized spy program to the beacons I sent
sir.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Did you bother to ask her about the program before you
disable it?
HaileyPiperWren: ::Tone of voice changes indicating that she was not quite as
sure of herself:: No sir.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Look down at your uniform.

HaileyPiperWren: A cadets uniform captain.
CommoLukasFyrstk: And waht tahpe of unfirom does Mr. Matsu wear?
HaileyPiperWren: A science officers uniform captain.
CommoLukasFyrstk: More than just a scahence officer's uniform wouldn't you
say, Cadet?
HaileyPiperWren: ::Looks at the Captain with honest curiousity:: What more is
there captain?
CommoLukasFyrstk: Rank, Cadet. Something you lack. What rank is mah chief
scahence officer, Cadet?
HaileyPiperWren: Leiutenant sir. ::did not consider rank as part of the "kind
of uniform" but figures mentioning that would only make the Captain hate her
more::
CommoLukasFyrstk: Correct, Cadet. A lieutenant. A commissioned officer in
Starfleet.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Ah don't care WHO put you on mah ship, Cadet. You do not
countermand a decision made bah a commissioned officer...
CommoLukasFyrstk: ... without the express permission of mahself, Command Lost
or Commander Haas. Do Ah make mahself clear, Cadet?
HaileyPiperWren: yessir
CommoLukasFyrstk: If you think an officer is acting inappropriately, you come
to one of us. And before you ask, Acting Ensign Fyrstk is not considered a
commissioned officer.
HaileyPiperWren: ::looks at the captain again in general confussion:: I would
not have assumed he was captain.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Good. He is in traing as much as you are, Cadet. Now...
CommoLukasFyrstk: Hailey. Ah have just recently started to trust you on mah
bridge. Do not betray that trust. It won't come again.
HaileyPiperWren: Maybe that's for the best.
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::Raises a brow:: What does that mean?
HaileyPiperWren: ::Not sure why she just said that, maybe it had to do with
her current anger and possible a little guilt::
HaileyPiperWren: Nothing captain.
CommoLukasFyrstk: It meant something, Cadet. If you are telling me not to
trust you, tell me now. You do not belong on mah bridge.
HaileyPiperWren: Permission to speak freely sir?
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::Debates it a moment:: Granted, Hailey.
HaileyPiperWren: A program that has the intentional purpose to spy is
considered illegal under federation law. The only ones on the ship that can
countermand that would be the CO or XO or someone acting as such. And those
people
HaileyPiperWren: would have to answer to starfleet command. I saw it as my
duty to reverse any illegal action this ship was taking captain, as part of my
oath as a starfleet cadet.
HaileyPiperWren: If we have such diverse opinions on what is or is not legal .
. . maybe I shouldn't be on your bridge.
HaileyPiperWren: That's all my comment meant.
CommoLukasFyrstk: You say Lt. Matsu put a spy program on the sensor probes?
Who is she spying on?
HaileyPiperWren: The comings and goings in this sector captain. Whether or not
there are actual people here, it does not matter.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Bring up the program, Cadet. Ah want to see tis spy program.
HaileyPiperWren: The program was hidden piggy back on the beacons.
HaileyPiperWren: I - - did not think to save a copy of the program captain,
just removed it from the beacons.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Could the program have possibly been to extend the range of
our sensors and the probe readings from Arceedia?
HaileyPiperWren: They beacons are on the far side of the sector and moving
away -- Technically they could be Captain.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Ah would think THAT of mah scahence officer, before Ah
accuse her of spahing. What do you think?
HaileyPiperWren: Considering how she treats me sir, that's not my first
impression.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Well, it's mah first impression, Cadet. I hasve to trust
that mah bridge officers are doing what's best for the ship.
HaileyPiperWren: ::wanting to say "whatever" Hailey stops herself, instead
saying curtly:: Yessir
CommoLukasFyrstk: Ah trust Ah have made mah postion pperfectly clear, Cadet?
HaileyPiperWren: ::curtly:: perfectly.
CommoLukasFyrstk: Is ther anything you would like to add or say, at this point?
HaileyPiperWren: I do have a question.
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::looking at her, relaxxed manner:: Go ahead.
HaileyPiperWren: Does your son out rank me? There are some on this ship that
would say yes, and don't hesitate to tease me about it whenever they get the
oppertunity.
CommoLukasFyrstk: ::Suppresses a smile.:: Malachi will only outrank you if Ah
put him in charge of a particular assahgnment or mission. Much as the same as
YOU would outrank...
CommoLukasFyrstk: any other officer, were Ah to put you in charge of a
particular assahgnment or mission.
CommoLukasFyrstk: As far as experience, Ah don't consider either one of you
experienced officers. Ah do not know your background, but Ah do know Malachi
has spent his entahre lahfeon starships.
CommoLukasFyrstk: That experience and his growin knowledge are the basis for
mah making him an acting ensign
CommoLukasFyrstk: Ah would hope, ALL mah officers would work together and not
worry about who outranks who.
HaileyPiperWren: That will never happen in real life captain. It's not human
nature by any means.
