Pertinent Data Name: Allen Zinthys Rank: Lieutenant Date of Birth: 15 June 2350 Race: Human Height: 6' 3" Weight: 245 lbs. Hair: Reddish-brown Eyes: Light Green Marital Status: Single Current Position: Chief of Security and Chief Tactical Officer, USS Atlantis Career History Allen entered Starfleet Academy in 2368, where he completed his first two years, focusing his classes to be on track to graduate into a security position. He was counseled against such a move however, all the opinions being that he should finish his basic training first, then move on to his specializations. Allen would have none of it and excelled in the advanced classes. He suddenly left the Academy, totally without warning. He returned three years later just as suddenly and was forced to take another three years in the Academy, much to his chagrin, due to a shift of majors. He, without reason given, shifted his major to Warp Field Theory and would hear nobody's attempts to change his mind. He graduated with honors. He served a short stint with the beta crew of the USS Defiant out of Deep Space 9, and served as that shift's executive and tactical officers, apparently due to the request of beta shift's commanding officer. Once word reached the DS9 command that he graduated as an engineer, he was removed from his Tactical post and transferred to the USS Atlantis as an assistant engineer, where he served until he requested a transfer to Starbase 4. On Starbase 4 he was given an engineering slot, however proved himself valiantly as a tactical officer. For an undisclosed reason, he requested and was granted a transfer soon after the incident that damaged Starbase 4 back to the Atlantis. Personal Information Allen was orphaned at a young age, and bounced around various orphanages, always citied as a troublemaker. In truth, he was not a troublemaker, but quite the opposite. Whenever the smaller children were picked on, he stood up for them. He was usually larger than the bullies and more often than not they backed off. Starfleet instituted a program designed to cultivate all the talent possible for their growing starship crews, and began recruiting the less fortunate. The reasoning was that it may help them get out of bad circumstances and would help provide extra crewmen. Allen was selected out of the handful of people who were chosen from his area to attend the Starfleet Academy and become an officer. One of the people who was helping to conduct the testing was Hendrik Bryan, heir to the Bryan cartels- a large, multi-world corporation responsible for the settling of multiple planets. With him was Ann Bryan, his sister, and an aspiring pilot. Allen and Ann hit it off very well and, though being from very different worlds, were married a year and a half later. Allen took the opportunity to improve himself very seriously, and threw himself into his training, doing well in almost every class. He left after two years and returned three years later. He brought with him the disturbing news that Ann had perished. The exact nature and location of her death have not been disclosed. Allen now pushed himself harder than ever. He became more reflective and was very hard on himself. He didn't allow for the slightest error, and was highly disappointed when he did not graduate at the top of his class.
