Hello,

On October 23 and 24, a small number of over the board chess players will
gather in Pittsburgh to determine who will be the U.S. blind chess champion for
2015. My friend, Jim Thoune, promises to be there to defend his national
championship from last year.

I have posted the official announcement from the US Chess Federation below.
You must be legally blind and you must join the US Chess Federation in order to
compete in this event.

You will have two hours and fifteen minutes on the clock to complete your
moves, and there will be two games on Friday and two on Saturday. Tentatively,
the games on Friday will begin at 10 am and 4 pm, while Saturday will be 9 am
and 3 pm. Once again, the USCF has accepted our suggestion that prize money be
distributed in a way which allows all players to have a chance to win some
money. As noted, whether it is a swiss system tournament will depend on the
number of players.

Please consider competing in this championship. If I can answer any questions,
you can reach me at ajpietrol@xxxxxxxxxxx or by phone at (412) 605-0571.
