Hi All,

I’m fairly certain that the Kaissa clock would be permissible at any
USCF-sanctioned tournament. It has no means of accessing or communicating with
either a chess engine or the internet. My personal objection to it is that it
requires the user to wear an earbud. For those of us who wear hearing aids,
earbuds can be a nuisance. And Bluetooth capability might indeed take the
Kaissa out of the running for certifiability by the USCF.

Incidentally, the “gibberish” to which Charles referred was indeed a foreign
language. Spanish, I believe. And that is why José suggested the use of Google
Translator. I myself have not yet sorted out Google Translator, but I have seen
examples of text subjected to the Translator, and they were converted into
fairly passable English.

Thanks, Jose.

I'll have to check out this clock myself at some time. Of course, it
would be useful mainly for my games via Skype since the rules
pertaining to such technology are pretty strict for tournamentplay
between sighted and blind competitors.

Could you provide the website where you got the info. I can read
Spanish pretty well, so if the site is in Spanish, that's no problem.
