All,
I was held to a draw today. Very, very complicated game. Stupidly tactical.
I won a pawn, just could not fend off all the combinations. Very tough game,
against a player, who is clearly under-rated. Hes beaten some 2200+ players
regularly in the past, so obviously, knows his stuff.
Bill won reasonably well, converting an end-game, although his Italian lady
opponent put up a good fight.
Lots of rain today. So, constant rain for the past 2 days. Which has made it
rather chilly and prevented us from getting out. So much for my two bottles
of sun-tan lotion!
Sadly, the food situation has not improved. When the food arrives, it is
actually quite reasonable. It is just taking so long between courses. For
example, tonight, the meal started at 20.00, and by time the first course
(soup) had come and gone, the second course had not even arrived by 21.20.
An awfully long time to wait and the chairs in the dining room are far from
comfortable.
The evening meal is taking over 2 hours to arrive.
Im sat in the bar now writing this. 3 Euros for a relatively small 0.3 ML
beer. Not VFM really. My alcohol consumption has certainly declined over
these past few days!
I have a Polish FM tomorrow, somebody who has a plus score against me. Bill
has a German, Schulz, who hes tussled with before.
Im on 1.5/2 and Bill ½.
