Not an amazing start for me personally, despite the team doing OK. After
round 1, where the IBCA lost 4-0, in round 2, we played against the Bahamas.
Annoyingly, on board 4, I just played really poorly. No obvious reason. My
opponent played aggressively and I just crumbled without any discernible
fuss. He was not even a strong player. Very bizarre. Happily though, the
rest of the team came through nicely and we took the match 3-1.
Round 3 sees us against Zambia, who sport 4 International Masters in their
team. I will play on board 4 with the white pieces. Hopefully, I can give a
better account of myself today! As long as the team progresses, then, that
is all that matters...
